Jan Hawkins  in her essay The World at Your Finger Tips: Education Technology Open Doors said that "interactive multimedia and telecommunications technologies can be powerful tools for educational improvement." In addition, she stated that "technology brings into classroom more interesting and diverse materials.....change the dynamic of time in school. By helping students work more independently, it gives teachers to work one-on-one or with small groups of students."

George Lucas Educational Foundation, Edutopia, November 2007 also wrote that

Technology integration is the necessity of today's students to have 21st century skills :

  • personal and social responsibility

  • planning, critical thinking, reasoning and creativity

  • strong communication skills, both for interpersonal and presentation needs

  • cross-cultural understanding

  • visualising and decision making

  • knowing how and when to use technology and choosing the most appropriate tool for the task

Janelle Cox, Benefit of Technology in the Classroom, confirmed that "Technology in the classroom makes learning more fun, students prefer technology because they believe that it makes learning more interesting and fun. It prepares students for the digital future and helps students retain information better. By integrating technology in the classroom, teachers are changing the way they used to teach (lectures six hours a day)and providing students with the tools that will take them into 21st Century."

Considering the importance of integrating technology in the classroom, educators are playing an important role for the change. Teachers need to keep up with technology enhancement in classroom teaching and be upgraded. Teachers are students through out their lives. They need to keep on acquiring and updating knowledge of what they teach in classrooms, periodically, keeping up with the changing world. The teaching community must keep themselves to pace on the path of change to implement new or modified methods of teaching-learning process to suit the requirements of the day.
